For cookies:
Sift the flour together with the baking powder.
In a basin combine butter, sugar, vanilla seeds, orange zest and rose water – brandy blend, until is homogenized. Pour mixture in mixer with dough cook attachment and beat it at medium speed(4-5)
Then increase the speed and continue for about 10 ‘until the mixture will be fluffy and white.
Continue adding sifted flour, almonds and cinnamon to our mixture, while we are beating it at medium to low speed, until the mixture is ready.
Pug the dough in small cookies or cut them in desired Christmas shapes.
Grease a non stick baking pan and place the kurabies- cookies inside them. Bake in preheated oven at 180o C for about 15 minutes until they have a light gold color.
For decoration:
Remove the cookies from the oven and let them cool for a while. Sprinkle them firstly with mixture of rosewater – brandy and after with icing sugar.
Tips
Also, an orange liqueur may be used instead of Metaxa – brandy or it may be replaced with rose water.
These cookies don’t get hard and keep for fresh for many days.
