Start your trip in Athens with a private wine tour and tasting at a unique Wine Museum and Winery. This museum is more than just a place to learn about wine, it’s a journey through time and space. You’ll explore the origins of wine and its introduction to Greece around the third millennium BC, and how the ancient Greeks influenced wine-making across Europe.

The private collection of tools, machinery, and accessories from different eras and regions, showcases the diversity and evolution of wine production.

Don’t miss the section on wine distillation, where you’ll see stills and antique equipment used to make spirits. You’ll also taste some drops and get a glimpse of the chamber where balsamic vinegar is aged, as the winery produces its own Modena-style balsamic.

After learning about the history and culture of wine, it’s time to taste it for yourself.

Sample premium Greek wines and one Greek distillate (tsipouro) made from indigenous grape varieties while you also enjoy a selection of Greek delicacies, such as gruyere cheese, olives, and bread, to complement the wines.

When your wine tour in Athens ends, you will travel to Nafplio.

Nafplio was the first capital of Greece after the War of Independence, and it still retains its elegant and historic charm. You’ll be enchanted by the medieval Old Town, with its narrow cobblestone streets, colorful neoclassical mansions, and fragrant bougainvillea trees.

Nafplio is not only a place of history and culture, but also a gastronomic paradise. You’ll have lunch with some of the best local dishes and wines at a traditional Greek restaurant.

After settling into your luxury boutique hotel, you’ll have some free time to relax.

In the afternoon, you’ll visit the majestic Palamidi Fortress, which dominates the city from a hilltop. The Venetians built this fortress in the 18th century, and it offers stunning views of the city and the sea.

There’s no better way to learn about the myth of Heracles than through a curated walk in the wine area of Nemea with a glass of ‘Fliassios’ wine (the ancient name of Agiorgitiko) in hand. At the same time, Andriana explains the history of the region.
