We attended the 11th World Wine Tourism Congress, IWINETC 2019
Where the heart of the best Spanish wines beats, with the wineries competing in architecture and history, we attended the 11th World Wine Tourism Congress, IWINETC 2019 – the leading global event for the wine and culinary tourism industry.
The 3-day event delivers thought provoking professional education, an extensive exhibition area to discover wine travel destinations and their wines, a focused business environment for tour operators to meet wine tourism experience providers and a chance to discover the wine tourism highlights of the host destination.
In the Basque country and the breathtaking scenery of Rioja Alavesa, we tantalized our taste buds with a multisensory experience of superb wines like the Rioja Red Blend (Tempranillo, Garnacha, Graciano and Mazuelo).
We will never forget however, the taste and aroma of Veguin Gran Reserves – made only in exceptional years and in limited editions and Txakoli, – a Spanish, slightly sparkling, very dry white wine – a brilliant tonic at parties and gatherings, a gentle aperitif and the ideal tapas drink.
Our beloved one though, was Bodegas Veguin De Murua made from grapes selected from very old vines, lying at the foot of the Sierra de Cantabria mountain range.
